I will stamp all over 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout fight which will be shown live on the streaming platform.
British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" the American as the two fighters confronted each other to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.
Ex twice unified boxing king Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Boxer's Mindset
"I will damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my goal."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically famous for his showmanship - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul rather attacked former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British opponent Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial paydays.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.
"It will be my match with Fury next year," Paul declared.
Physical Difference
As the two fighters met for the customary stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how improbable this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually happening.
